Friday 5: My Current-lies!

Due to lack of time and procrastination, I’ve been quite behind on my blog posts, so for this Friday, I’ll keep it short and sweet. Feel free to link up your Friday roundup post in the linkup below! No link-backs required. Just share šŸ™‚

 

Current Habit:

Setting up a bedtime routine! I’ll write a later post on this, but it goes something like this:

  1. Read
  2. Journal
  3. Stretch
  4. Sleep

All starting 2-3 hours before bedtime.

Current Shift at Chipotle:

Working mid-day until mid-afternoon. Approximately 10:30-4 ish.

Current Read:

The happiness project by Gretchen Rubin! I’ve been wanting to read this book because a) I need another hobby now that school is winding down, and b) because I feel my life could use some happiness boost, and I also love anything for self-improvement. I’ve been taking notes down as I read along and I’m into the second chapter: the month of February.

Current Eat:

Crispy Pork!

There’s this tiny little BBQ house in a plaza where my siblings take their Saturday Chinese school classes. My friend introduced the shop to me when I was craving crispy duck one day. Since I wasn’t looking for purchase lean meat and they don’t sell the head or legs as much as the actual fire-roasted pork itself, I ended up buying half the head for just $2. That thing could feed me for like, 5 days straight guys, I kid you not! It’s so rich in fat and I love love love the crispy skin. It’s like eating chips–but pork chips. Keto-paleo friendly. Okay well, I admit, the seasoning with MSG and sugar and all probably isn’t paleo, but I have no idea how to make it at home and this deal was too good to pass off. If I could eat like this all throughout university living on my own, I’d literally be saving hundreds on grocery! I was pleasantly surprised when I took it home, that the noggin(yes, the pig brains) was still inside! THAT THING IS SO RICH IN OMEGA 3’S, YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

It looked something like this. And since I’m going to China July 12, I have to clear out my fridge before I even think about buying any more food. I’m probably not going to purchase another head again–I think it’s for the better because I struggle hard with overeating, emotional eating, and binge eating and I know it’s going to be an effort to control myself.

Current Goal:

  • Going dairy free

  • avocado free
  • for
  • July

…and I work at Chipotle and those are the ONLY keto foods I can eat there. Funny, huh? I’m cutting them out to see if they have an impact on my energy levels and bloating. And acne and acid reflux. I guess it gives me all the more reason not to eat out and finally finish all the food I have to finish in the fridge before I go to china in 10 days! This is an opportunity, not a curse! šŸ™‚

And of course, what kind of post would this be without some mention of exercise?

  • AVOCADO-FREE!?!?!?!? Sorry, that made my head spontaneously combust. ;_; (I want to grow a forest of avocado trees in my future backyard.)

    I’m interested in what you think of The Happiness Project! I’ve heard good things about it, but haven’t had a chance to read it! :O!
