Flourless Cheese Crumpets

Keto/Low carb. Primal.

Biscuits. English muffins, crumpets. Crumpets, anyone?

I personally made mine with sliced avocado.

This is a great wheat free, gluten free, flourless alternative to breads and other starches we eat without sacrificing the flavour or texture. Fool your friends and family! I made this originally because I wanted an alternative to bread for hamburgers. Feel free to use it in place of buns anytime! It’s so easy to make and yummy to eat.

All the ingredients you need.

Combine Dry Ingredients

Add Wet ingredients

I used a muffin pan because I didn’t have a muffin top one!

So cute!

Flourless Cheese Crumpets

Yield: 4-6 crumpets

Easy, delicious, tastes and looks just like wheat-based breads!

  • 1 Cup Almond flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 tbsp Butter(or ghee)
  • 1 cup Cheese(I used mozzerella)
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Whey protein powder(unflavoured)

  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. Combine almond flour, baking soda, whey protein, and cheese in a bowl.
  3. Beat eggs and add to mixture.
  4. Add your butter(or ghee) at room temperature and mix thoroughly.
  5. Bake for 12-14 minutes

Feel free to top with whatever you like! Almond butter, avocado, sliced meat, cheese…in addition, I toasted mine for a good 2 minutes to further harden it.

How was the result? Did they fool you too?

So this is the second post I’ve seen using almond flour, I’m def. going to have to try it! These look great and I love the idea of using avocado in addition. Thanks for a great recipe! Pinned!

It’s so delicious–you won’t regret it! Almond flour is a staple in my house!

  • The Running Schlub

    Wow those look amazing!

They are so cute! Is it odd to find baked goods cute!? Love how simple the ingredient list is too – I’m always looking for gluten/grain-free recipes but they usually pack way too many ingredients 😉

    • You’ve come to the right blog!(and may I say I have been a fan of yours for many months now? I reside in Ontario too, and Ottawa is so beautiful and chilly when I visited!) I am a stickler for really simple recipes that don’t call for 10000 ingredients. I simply don’t have the time or space to go out, purchase, and store everything!

I’ve made these for breakfast and they turned out awesome. I used a muffin top pan and got 7 buns out of this recipe. They are also great for making sandwiches. I’m proud of how far you’ve come. “Keep on truckin’, girl!”

  • dave

Something happened to the recipe. Would anyone have the directions to cook it?

  • Those look delicious!! I love experimenting with almond flour, too.

    • Recently I’ve been experimenting with flaxseed flour 🙂 let me know how it goes if you make the recipe!

  • jillconyers

Yum! The crumpets look delicious! Almond flour is one of my gluten free option favorites!

  • Cat

They look so perfect! Love the ingredients too. I’m on such a cheese kick right now so this is the perfect way to embrace it ;D
